Is The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap Legit? [Review]

I was scrolling through the Money Map Press website today when I saw a popup about “The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap”. I was curious, so decided to check it out to see what I could learn.

What I found was that it’s a 136 page ebook about investing in cannabis stocks, which you get for free when you purchase a subscription to the National Institute for Cannabis Investors (NICI).

Is it legit? The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap isn’t a scam, it’s a legitimate guidebook on how to earn money investing in cannabis stocks in 2020, which was created by Mike Ward and the team at NICI. But I wouldn’t expect to get rich overnight, and there are risks involved as with any type of investing.

In this review, we’ll take a closer look at what The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap is all about, how it works, and my overall opinion of it.

The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap (What’s Legit, What’s Not)

As I mentioned earlier, I don’t believe The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap is a scam. But there are some aspects of it that I feel are a bit overhyped.

Here’s an overview of the legit and not so legit aspects:

What Makes It Legit?

The main reason I’m calling The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap legit is because you get real insights into investing in cannabis within the guidebook. And as a member of the National Institute for Cannabis Investors (NICI).

I’m actually a member of NICI and have been for awhile now. And, while the recommendations are not always spot on, I personally think the overall quality of information is high.

Mike Ward and the team are expert investors, both generally and specifically within the cannabis world. So they know their stuff and are sharing their knowledge with members of NICI.

So, if more states in the US and countries around the world continue to legalize cannabis, the opportunity to earn money investing in pot stocks could be huge. Especially if you have the right information as to which companies to invest in.

But these are some very big “ifs”.

What Makes It a “Scam”?

The most disappointing aspect of The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap is not the information it contains, but the hype they use to sell it to you. So if there was any type of “scam” in this, it’d be the marketing.

I say this because they basically just skip all the risks and potential downsides, and focus on pumping everything up to sound amazing. Which in some respects it is, but nothing is ever “that” good.

For example, they talk about how cannabis could become legal in the United States in just a “few short weeks” without providing any real basis for saying so. This is a stretch, to say the least.

They also talk about how you could “strike it rich in cannabis” and potentially become the “next marijuana millionaire”.

Don’t get me wrong, some people have gotten rich by investing in cannabis. So I’m not saying it’s impossible. Not at all.

But nobody knows for sure if or when cannabis will become federally legal in the United States (or anywhere for that matter). And this is largely what making a fortune in this space hinges on.

Not to mention, there are downside risks.

I know this based on personal experience, because I bought into NICI about a year ago and have so far lost over 80% of my investment. And that was before the market downturn in February this year (2020).

This could (and hopefully will) recover eventually, and it’s not NICI’s fault, the whole industry has suffered.

But you won’t find any mention of this on the sales page, it’s all rainbows and sunshine. Which I don’t think is really helping the average person who’s trying to make an informed decision about where to put their money.

Who’s Behind This?

The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap was created by the team at The National Institute for Cannabis Investors (NICI). And it’s presented by Mike Ward, who is the co-founder of NICI and publisher of Money Map Press.

Other people who make up the team at NICI include venture capitalists, CEOs, doctors, and angel investors who are expert investors. For example, guys like John Vardaman, Danny Brody, Dr. Avtar Dhillon, and Tom Gentile.

What is Money Map Press?

It’s a financial publishing company, run by Mike Ward, and it’s the company behind all of this. They created NICI and The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap. So if you do join, this is the company you’re actually signing up with.

What Is The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap and How Does It Work?

The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap is a 136-page ebook that shows you how to invest in cannabis stocks. Or according to the website, it shows you how to become a marijuana millionaire.

Mike believes the market is going to go from $16 billion to possibly even $1 trillion in a few years, and says this guidebook is going to help you legally navigate the industry and profit from the coming boom.

Contents of NICI membership including The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap guidebook

But you can’t just buy this ebook, you can only access it by purchasing a yearly subscription to NICI for $39. So aside from being a great guidebook, The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap also acts as a sales pitch to sell more subscriptions to NICI.

This is very common among financial newsletters, they put a bonus together and use it as a hook to sell a subscription.

For example, I recently looked into the 2020 American Cannabis Summit which is also used to promote NICI. Just in a slightly different way.

In any case, as a member of NICI you get access to, not just The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap, but all the benefits that come with being a NICI member.

Here’s an overview of what you get as an NICI member:

  • Quarterly State of the Cannabis Industry Dossier
  • Monthly Cannabis Investment Package (newsletter)
  • Weekly and daily trade alerts
  • Cannabis investing training
  • Monthly virtual board room meetings
  • Access to the NICI members area
  • NICI model portfolio

On top of this, members get access to the following bonuses:

  • Bonus Report #1: The Law Tracker
  • Bonus Report #2: Extracting the Profits
  • Bonus Report #3: Cannabis Branding Bonanza
  • Bonus Report #4: The King of Cannabis
  • Bonus Report #5: Merging for Millions

So for $39 per year you’re getting access to a lot of valuable content. And it is high value content, and you get to see exactly what pot stocks they are investing in and how well they are performing.

If you want to learn more about what you get as a NICI member, I recommend seeing full review of NICI here.

Can You Really Make Millions From Pot Stocks?

It is technically possible to become a “marijuana millionaire” if you buy the right stocks at the right time, with a large enough investment, and get out at the right time.

But there are a lot of variables here.

The biggest one being federal legalization in the United States.

Back when pot stocks first took off in 2017, it had to do with Canada’s decision to legalize weed. Before this, there was very little interest in cannabis stocks and the prices were very low. Then a bill was introduced to make it federally legal, which sent pot stocks to the moon.

Since then, they have all but fallen off a cliff. Including virtually all of the stocks NICI initially recommended.

Why did this happen? I can’t say for sure, but my understanding is that the initial hype in the beginning pushed cannabis stocks way up, which was followed by lower than expected earnings from cannabis companies in Canada. And generally less growth in the industry than many hoped for.

Where are we at now, in 2020?

Well, many states in the US have legalized weed, but we’re still waiting on federal legalization. And this is the catalyst to huge gains. So if you’re looking for explosive profits, federal legalization in the United States is what you’re hoping for.

The question is, when will that be?

Nobody knows for sure. It could be weeks, months, or even years. It could be never (but I doubt it). Either way, you need to be sure you’re investing in the right companies who are not only profitable now, but are positioned to take full advantage if/when pot is legalized at the federal level.

My Overall Opinion

I did think some of the marketing for The 2020 Pot Profits Roadmap was overhyped. And in my opinion they don’t disclose the potential risks as much as they could, but that doesn’t make it a scam.

Overall I think it’s a legitimate guidebook to investing in pot stocks which could prove helpful to anyone who is interested in investing in cannabis stocks. You do need to purchase a subscription to NICI to get it, but NICI is a legitimate subscription service that is worth checking in and of itself.
