Matthew Milner claims that his “Genesis Investing System” can help anyone turn $500 into $650,000 or more, by investing in private companies before they go public.
He says you’ll be able to use what he shows you to invest in companies that could become the next Apple or Microsoft.
But what’s it about, and is it legit? Genesis Investing is a type of investing that involves purchasing equity in private companies, in the hopes it will grow in value when the company goes public, and Genesis Investing System was created by Matthew Milner to teach you how to do this effectively. It’s not a scam, but it’s overhyped and can be very risky.
In this review, I’m going to show you what this is about in more detail, how the system works, and who’s behind it. So you can make a more informed decision about joining.
What Is Genesis Investing?
Genesis Investing is a type of investing that involves purchasing equity in private companies, known as private equity, in the hopes it will go up in value when the company goes public.
This type of investing is actually called equity crowdfunding, which has been around for awhile now. Matthew Milner just refers to it as “Genesis Investing” because, well… it sounds cool.
In any case, equity crowdfunding allows you to invest in privately held companies in return for a small chunk of ownership of that company.
This was actually illegal in the United States for regular “retail investors” like you and I, up until 2012. Which was when the JOBS act (Jumpstart Our Business Startups act) was signed into law by Barack Obama.
The reason equity crowdfunding has become popular is because it allows startups to source capital and grow their companies, while also allowing retail investors to potentially “get in on the ground floor” of the next big thing.
Some people have made fortunes this way. But it’s important to understand that this type of investing can be very risky because, as ain investor, you’re betting on things that may never happen.
As in, you’re betting that the private company will eventually become a public company, by launching an IPO, and trading publicly on the stock exchange. Which may never happen.
And even if it does, you’re betting that the company will be successful, and that their stock price will go up. Which is in reality just a gamble, especially since most startups fail.
Not to mention, there are other risks associated with private equity investing. And I personally think it’s worth understanding these risks before deciding anything.
With that being said, along with high risk comes high potential reward. And according to Matt Milner, his “system” shows you how to avoid some of these risks and make lots of money.
What Is Genesis Investing System?
The Genesis Investing System is a system that was created by Matthew Milner, that shows you how to invest in private companies before they go public.
In other words, it’s a system for becoming a good “Genesis Investor.”
He makes some bold claims about how lucrative this system can be for the everyday person though. He says it could allow you to turn $100 into $50K or $500 into $650K, which means returns of over 1,000%.
If you choose the right company, I guess this is possible.
But to me, the sales pitch was a bit one sided and overhyped. And you have to remember that he is incentivized to do so, because he’s selling something.
The only way to learn how his Genesis Investing System works is through his course called The Early Stage Playbook, which costs $79. This is an online course where Matt Milner shares his methods for investing in private, early stage companies in detail.
So the “Early Stage Playbook” is what this whole thing is really about. And, according to Matt, the course has been put together by the “top venture capitalists and professional angel investors in the world.”
It contains step-by-step courses, tutorials and bonus reports that have been put together by Matthew Milner and Wayne Mulligan who are the co-founders of Crowdability, the company behind this.
There is a cheaper option for $39 one time if you want to save some cash, but if you pay the full price of $79 you get the following bonuses:
- The 60-Minute Angel Investor
- Double-Digit Returns in Private Income
- A Mutual Fund for Start-Ups
- 20 Pre-IPO Investments, 1 Click
- Two In-Depth Case Studies
The good news is, there’s a 30 day money back guarantee in place. So if you buy the course and don’t like it, they refund your money.

How Does the System Work?
The Genesis Investing System is based on Matt Milner’s “A.S.E Process.” With each letter representing a different step in the overall process.
The “A” represents step one, and stands for Allocation. Which basically means how much money to put into a given company, and how to diversify your investments.
The “S” is step two in the process, and stands for Screen. This is where Matt looks at ways to screen out, or weed out, companies that have the highest chance of failing.
And the “E” represents Evaluate and is the final step in the process. This is the step where Matt shows you how to really dig into your shortlist of private companies, to see which ones are worth investing in.
It’s a pretty simple system but it’s the result of years of research and analysis by experts in the field.
The idea is that, by enrolling in the Early Stage Playbook course and following the Genesis Investing System methodology, you can find the companies with highest potential payout, with the lowest amount of risk.
Who’s Behind The Genesis Investing System?
The Genesis Investing System was created by Matthew Milner, who is the co-founder of a company called Crowdability.
According to the Crowdability website, Matt Milner is a technology expert who founded companies like like Hearst, and who has worked on Wall Street as a trader for companies like Lehman Brothers.
He co-founded Crowdability, along with Wayne Mulligan, in 2013 to provide investors with “education, information and insight into opportunities in the crowdfunding market.”
Matt and Wayne believe that equity crowdfunding, which is what Genesis Investing is all about, has the power to “drive entrepreneurship, transform communities, and generate wealth.”
Whatever the reason for launching Crowdablity, both Matthew and Wayne have achieved a great deal of success over the years. And not just with investing in companies, but starting and growing them.
And it’s not all hype either. I did some digging and it turns out Matt is quite well known in the investment world, he’s even been featured on Forbes and other mainstream media sites.
Not that this makes him beyond reproach. But he clearly knows his stuff and as such is in a position to share this knowledge with those who want to become an equity investor.
Is Genesis Investing System a Scam?
The Genesis Investing System isn’t a scam in my opinion.
It’s a course created by an expert in the field of investing in startups, Matt Milner. And it’s sold by Crowdability, which is a legitimate company that has been around for almost a decade.
It’s also quite low in price at $79 and comes with a money back guarantee, which means it’s not very risky in the respect of losing your money.
However, there IS a huge risk involved in investing in the way he’s showing you. As I mentioned earlier, most startups fail. So, while you might be getting in on the next big thing, you could also just be flushing money down the toilet.
And, while I don’t think Matt’s course is a scam, I do think the sales material is a bit overhyped. To me, it really emphasises the “get rich quick” mentality. And talks a lot about turning a small investment into a huge win.
So you have to understand that some of this is just marketing hype to sell you his system. That doesn’t make it a scam, but it does mean you should take the sales pitch with a grain of salt.
And whatever you do, don’t go into this expecting to get rich quick.
That is not likely to happen. In fact, it’s much more likely that you’ll lose money investing in private companies, because most startups are not successful. That’s just how it is.
Either way, you should never just invest based on someone’s opinion. Educate yourself and understand what it is you’re doing, before putting money into anything.
What I Like
- This is a legit way to invest that could potentially lead to huge returns.
- Matthew Milner is an expert with a proven track record of success, who shares a lot of value with members of the Genesis Investing course.
- The course only costs $79 and comes with a 30 day refund policy.
What I Don’t Like
- There’s a huge amount of risk involved in investing in startups, no matter what you know or how well diversified you are.
- The marketing behind this is overhyped in my opinion and doesn’t properly warn people of the potential risks involved.
Conclusion
Overall, I think the Genesis Investment System course could be worth buying for someone who is interested in high risk/high reward investing. And who understands the risks involved.
On the flip side, it’s probably not for people who are looking to get rich overnight and who are investing money they can’t afford to lose. Because this could very well end badly.
