Kannaway Review – Legit Business Opportunity or Scam?

Welcome to my review of Kannaway.

Chances are you’ve been approached by someone about an ‘amazing business opportunity’. Or perhaps you’re considering buying some of Kannaway’s products.

If so, you’re in the right place.

In this review, I’m going to show you exactly what this company, its products and business opportunity are all about. So you can decide for yourself if it’s worth your time and money.

Kannaway Review

Kannaway is a multi level marketing (MLM) company based in California, that specialises in CBD Hemp oil products. The company launched in 2014 and is run by CEO Blake Schroeder.

Apparently, Kannaway’s goal is to “share the life-changing benefits of hemp-based cannabidiol (CBD) with every individual and family and empower you to do the same for your community”.

Sounds good. And like most MLM companies, they also support a charity.

In this case, one called ECHO, which is apparently all about ‘Education, Collaboration, and Hope’, and they offer support for special case families and people that need cannabinoids.

There’s no denying the value of CBD oil as a product, especially given the huge upward trend surrounding it. This is why a number of similar MLM companies like Hempworx and CTFO are jumping on the ‘CBD oil bandwagon’.

There is money to be made here.

And if you like the product, you can make money promoting something you believe in, which is always nice.

But does this mean you should rush out and join?

Not necessarily. Because like any company or ‘bizopp’, there are drawbacks to consider.

In the following sections, I’ll show you everything you need to know about the products and business opportunity. This way you can make a more informed decision either way.

Sound good? Ok, let’s dive in!

The Kannaway Product Line

The Kannaway product line consists of CBD oil in various forms. Such as drops, creams, balms, essential oils, protein powder and even CBD dog treats.

For those of you that don’t know, CBD is derived from the Hemp and Cannabis plant. This stuff won’t get you high though, because it contains zero THC.

So it’s legal throughout the US and Canada. Although it can still be difficult to access in some parts of the world without a prescription.

In any case, CBD hemp products make up the majority of the product line. And there are definitely some unique formulas developed by Kannaway that make these products unique.

For example, the ‘Premium Humulus oil’. Which is CBD oil that is not derived from Hemp or Cannabis plants. Instead, it is made using the extract of Kriya brand Humulus flowers.

This is interesting because it makes the products more accessible to areas where traditional CBD isn’t allowed without a prescription. It’s considered a kind of ‘loophole’ because it doesn’t come from the Hemp or Cannabis plant.

Kannaway also uses a proprietary BiBong formula throughout the product line, which is apparently what makes many of the products unique.

According to the company website, “Bĭbong formulas are specific herbal formulations that have been handed down for centuries through a family line of doctors”.

To be honest it’s easy to make claims of potential health benefits though.

So I think it’s important to remain somewhat skeptical when it comes to some of the claims they are making. While there may be some (or a lot of) truth to it, many MLM companies claim their wellness products are better than they really are.

To be fair, Kannaway does provide independent third party lab testing data. Which doesn’t prove all of their claims, but it does go a long way to ensuring you are getting your moneys worth.

In any case, here’s a more detailed look at the different types of CBD products on offer…

HempVap

Kannaway sells one main CBD oil vaporiser product, which is basically an e-cigarette using CBD oil and other ingredients such as MCT oil.

These retail at $42.99 for 100mg cartridge, or $165.99 for a 4 cartridge ‘party pack’.

As with all Kannaway products, you can get a discount as a preferred customer. Which is a matter of going on a ‘Smart Ship’ arrangement where your orders are sent to you automatically each month.

Revive CBD Oil Drops

Kannaway ‘Rev!ve’ CBD oil drops that apparently help you to be healthier, happier and just function better with more energy when you need it.

These consist of CBD and MCT oils like most of their products, but also include the ‘Bibong herbal blend’ which supposedly is the key to making these so special.

The drops come in 3 separate formulas and each lasts you about 30 days:

• AM Awaken drops (60ml retails for $110.99)
• PM Restore drops (60ml retails for $79.99)
• Revive Pro drops (120ml retails for $214.99)

The AM drops are meant to be taken in the morning and help boost your energy for the day, while the PM drops help you relax more in the evening. The ‘Pro’ drops are just a stronger version of the AM drops, with more CBD in them.

Defined Skin Care Range

Kannaway sells a range of skin care solutions and ‘total care’ packages that combine different products.

For example, a cleanser, exfoliant, toner, serum and moisturizer.

These are all made in conjunction with other natural ingredients which supposedly make your skin beautiful and include anti-ageing properties.

Other CBD Hemp Products

There are more products on offer such as dog treats, protein powders and pain creams as I explained earlier. This is because there are many potential uses and benefits of using CBD oil.

In addition, there are various product packages available that bundle some of these products together. This can be a good way to try multiple products and save some money while you’re at it.

I obviously can’t go through each of these, but you now have insight into the core Kannaway product offerings.

To me these products look as legit as any other company selling these. Although I will say they are on the pricey side in my opinion.

This is why many will take advantage of the autoship preferred customer arrangement which is also a kind of segue into joining the bizopp.

In the next section, we’ll take a look at the business opportunity to see how it stacks up…

The Kannaway Business Opportunity

The Kannaway business opportunity is all about promoting the companies products, and recruiting others into the business. And the Kannaway Compensation plan is the document that outlines all the details.

In this section, I’m going to break down the compensation plan in detail, so you know exactly how it all works.

The first aspect of the compensation plan (selling products) is pretty straight forward. You earn commissions when you sell CBD oil products to customers. This part is essentially affiliate marketing.

The second part (recruiting) is where the MLM side of things comes into play, and this is where most people make the bulk of their money with companies like this. The idea is to recruit people so that when they make sales, and people they recruit make sales, you earn commissions.

Getting Started

Becoming a ‘Brand Ambassador’ is the first step to getting started with Kannaway.

This is a matter of going to the Kannaway website, clicking on ‘Become a Brand Ambassador’ and paying the $54.98 fee. This is an annual fee that basically qualifies you to take part in the compensation plan.

As part of this fee, you also receive a replicated website to facilitate sales and you get wholesale pricing on products.

Ways You Can Earn Money

Once you are a Brand Ambassador, you now have the opportunity to earn revenue. And there are a number of ways you can earn within the Kannaway compensation plan which I will now go through in detail.

Direct Sales Commissions

This is all about selling the CBD products, and there’s a couple of main ways to go about it.

The first way is to purchase the products yourself at wholesale, and sell them at retail to people you meet who want to buy. And the second way is to earn the difference between wholesale and retail when someone buys through your replicated online store.

In any case, most people won’t pay retail via your online store, which is where the next income stream comes into play.

Direct Sales Bonus (DBS)

Kannaway offers a ‘preferred customer’ program which gives anyone who visits your site the option to receive wholesale pricing. All the need to do is register for free and go on a monthly auto-ship.

So it’s a no brainer because the savings are real.

There’s also other incentives for people to go this route, such as the “3 and Yours is free program”. Which gives the preferred customer the option to refer other customers and when they do this 3 times, they get their auto-ship for free.

Anyways, whenever a preferred customer purchases through your replicated site, you will earn a 30% commission on the ‘commissionable volume’ (CV) of that product. The CV is just the amount that is set aside from each purchase for paying commissions.

In addition, you can also earn this same 30% commission when any of your personal referrals purchase products within their first 30 days.

For example: The Revive AM drops wholesale at $90.99, and carry a CV of $31. So you would earn a $9.30 commission on this product whenever someone purchases through you as a preferred customer (30% of $31). AND whenever your personal referrals purchase this product within their first 30 days.

There’s also a special set commission rate of between $20 – $150 for any first time purchased of a Value Pack…

Worth mentioning is that the above amounts are tripled if you become faststart qualified (more on this below).

Oddly, the company also sells electricity, gas and solar services, which also payout a DBS commission. To me this is a little strange but hey, more chances to earn I suppose.

FastStart 3000 and 9000 Bonus

According to the company, this is the “heartbeat of the Kannaway business model”.

To qualify for this bonus, you must either purchase OR sell a ‘faststart’ package within 30 days of becoming a Brand Ambassador.

There are 3 FastStart value packs in total:

• Junior Executive Value Pack – $699
• Senior Executive Value Pack – $999
• Total Product Experience Value Pack – $1899.99

Once you sell or buy one of these… you then need either 3 customers or Brand Ambassador’s who sell or buy a Value Pack.

Upon reaching this goal, you become FastStart bonus qualified.

However, there are still further requirements to earn this bonus as follows…

FastStart 3000 Bonus- To earn up to a $1,000 bonus, you must generate 3,000 in sales volume within the first 4 levels of your downline. And you must also generate 110 PBV (‘personal business volume’ AKA personal sales), within both the second and third months of being a Brand Ambassador.

FastStart 9000 Bonus- To earn an additional $1,000 bonus, you must generate 9,000 in sales volume within the first 5 levels of your downline. You must also generate 110 PBV in month 2 and 3 as above.

DSB Check Match

The DBS Check Match pays out a 20% commission on whatever your personal referrals earn in DBS commissions (explained earlier) for the month. So for example if your direct referral earns a $100 DBS commission in June, you’ll earn $20.

Also, a further 30% of whatever your referral earns is ‘passed up’ to those above you, such as your sponsor and his/ her sponsor etc, 7 levels up. This means that (in total) 50% commissions are paid out.

Here’s a chart to show you what I mean…

When you think about it, this also means that you can earn DSB Check Match bonuses from those in your downline that you did not personally refer.

I’ll now explain what the whole ‘downline thing’ is all about and how it works…

Team Override Commissions (downline commissions)

This income stream is all about earning from people within your downline.

Kannaway utilises a ‘unilevel’ MLM downline system, which places you at the top of your organisation and those you personally recruit go into your ‘level 1’. Those they recruit go into your ‘level 2’ and so on, infinitely wide and a total of 10 levels deep.

Here’s an example to show you what I mean…

Everyone you recruit, and everyone they recruit (and so on) will go into your downline somewhere.

How much money you can earn from these folks depends on your rank, how many sales are taking place within your downline and your ‘rank’ within the organisation.

Here’s a screenshot taken from the compensation plan to show you the earning potential:

As you can see, Brand Ambassadors earn 2% of the sales volume on the first level of their downline, and 3% on the second level. But you must progress in rank in order to earn on deeper levels and to earn higher percentages.

6) Rank Infinity Bonus

The Rank Infinity bonus allows ‘Executive Director’ ranked affiliates and beyond, to earn a 1% commission on the sales volume of their level 6 downline through to a theoretical infinite number of levels.

The way this works is you earn 1% of the sales volume of your entire downline *up to* the next Executive Director (generation 1). At which point you begin earning an additional 1% bonus up to the second Executive Director (generation 2).

Once there’s a third Executive Director within that same leg of your downline, you need to advance to ‘Area Director’ rank in order to continue earning. This process continues all the way up to ‘Double Crown Ambassador Elite’ rank.

Worth noting is that this bonus is cumulative in nature. So if you’re at the highest rank, and no one in your downline is Executive Director or beyond, you’d earn up to 7.5% Rank Infinity Bonus in total.

7) Coded Infinity Bonus

This bonus works in much the same way as the previous bonus, except this starts from your personal Brand Ambassadors.

The other difference is you continue earning on these people for life, they do not ‘break away’ from you at any point as with the Rank Infinity Bonus.

You simply earn the 1st and 2nd generation bonuses up to the next person in that downline leg who reaches a given rank. And from that point, you can begin earning on subsequently higher ranks as you achieve these.

The higher your rank, the more you can earn.

8) Lifestyle Bonus

Once you reach the rank of Area Director, and maintain it for a month, you qualify to earn this bonus. The amount you can earn ranges from $500 for Area Director all the way up to $10k for Double Crown Ambassador Elite.

9) Rank Advancement Bonus

This is very similar to the Lifestyle Bonus, whereby you earn by increasing your rank. The amount you can earn depends on your rank and how quickly you achieve this as per the table below.

10) Minimum Income Guarantee Bonus

This aspect of the compensation plan ensure that each rank earns a minimum amount, which is actually pretty cool.

To ensure you reach this you just need to meet the requirements of each rank. Which you can find detailed information on within the official compensation plan I linked to earlier.

You also need to maintain 110BV yourself, and have 3 personal referrals within 3 separate legs who do the same.

When you do this, and if your overall monthly income is below the ‘guarantee amount’ then Kannaway will pay you the difference.

I think this is pretty cool and not something I come across often.

Verdict- Is Kannaway a Scam or Legit Opportunity?

Kannaway is not a scam in my opinion.

The company is selling legitimate products within a growing market, and the business opportunity is both legitimate and potentially lucrative.

I also like that there’s a strong focus on quality products and selling these, as oppose to just mass recruiting.

While I’m not a huge fan of MLM in general, this is one of the better network marketing companies out there all things considered. Especially considering the great products the have on offer.

I will say that despite this, many people who join this will struggle to make real money…

This comes down to the high price of the products, which makes them difficult to sell online. Which means you’ll need to ‘sell’ people on the business opportunity and really push the ‘relationship marketing’ aspect.

Unfortunately, this often results in trying to recruit family, friends and practically everyone you meet. Which is not a good way to build a business in my opinion.

So if you are going to join Kannaway, I highly recommend learning how to do online marketing to generate quality leads. You need to branch out beyond people you know and prospecting everyone you meet.

Whatever you decide, I hope this review has been helpful.
