Is Advertising Bait a Scam or Legitimate Way To Double or Triple Your Sales?

Advertising Bait says they can help you double or triple your sales, just by giving away their free vacation packages.

Sounds cool. But since you’re reading this, you’re probably skeptical. If so, I don’t blame you, there’s a lot of scams online. So it’s smart to do your homework.

In this review, I’ll show you what I found so you can decide for yourself.

Advertising Bait Review

The Advertising Bait website (advertisingbait.com) claims you can easily double or triple your sales using their service. Regardless of the type of business you run and regardless of what industry you operate in.

As a member, you get access to free vacation packages, which you can then offer to your existing customers or prospective clients.

These free vacations could be used to boost customer loyalty and increase repeat purchases, or to drum up new business.

So for example you could give a free vacation to anyone who likes your page on Facebook, opts in to your email list, starts a free trial or makes a purchase.

Whatever the case may be, the person would fulfil whatever action you require, to get access to the free vacation package.

So does this sort of marketing actually work?

Yes. Offering vacation incentives is a proven way to build your business.

Think about it. Who doesn’t want a free holiday, just for sharing your Facebook page?

There is definitely merit in this marketing approach (in and of itself). But the question is, is Advertising Bait the best option to go with?

Maybe. Let’s dig a little deeper to find out…

What Is Advertising Bait About?

Advertising Bait is a subscription based vacation incentives program, with a cost of $49 per month.

As a member, you can give away an unlimited number of free travel certificates to the United States, Mexico, Spain and Thailand. The value of these vacations is apparently anywhere from $585 to $1,500 and the resorts are apparently high quality.

What’s the catch?

First of all, there is a limit of one certificate redemption per customer for travel in the US and one redemption outside of the US. Second, the guest pays the resort taxes, which works out to a maximum of $19.70 per day according to the website.

Advertising Bait Vacation Incentives

Other than that there are apparently “no strings attached”.

Unlike some vacation incentive offers, recipients do not have to attend any sales or timeshare presentations either.

In addition to the packages themselves, members get access to marketing materials. Such as industry specific videos to help you sell people on the idea.

Ultimate Facebook SecretsThere’s also a bonus called “Ultimate Facebook Secrets” for free. Which is apparently a 6 hour step by step training about using Advertising Bait to crush it with Facebook ads.

According to the website, this training shows you how the creators of Advertising Bait generated $200 million in sales for BookVIP.com using Facebook.

All of this sounds like a solid deal. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t at least somewhat skeptical. I mean, $49 per month is cheap in comparison to what other sites charge for this sort of stuff.

In any case, I do like to give programs I review the benefit of the doubt. Read on to see what else I found and to learn how this works in more detail…

How It Works

To get started with Advertising Bait, all you need to do is signup on their website for $49. There are no contracts and you can cancel at any time.

Once you’re a member, you can start giving away free vacation packages to pretty much whoever you want.

The process apparently takes less than 30 seconds too:

  1. Enter your client’s name
  2. Enter their email address
  3. Select the destination and hit send

Once you follow the above steps to send someone a free vacation, the person has 7 days to activate the vacation certificate. And up to 18 months from then, to choose the dates they would like to travel.

So can they give away free vacations?

According to the Advertising Bait FAQ page:

We help fill empty rooms which the hotels, resorts turn into additional revenue from other areas of their property and future bookings.

That pretty much sums it up.

Hotels are rarely ever full and it’s better to have some revenue coming in (through room service, restaurant and bars, resort fees etc.) than nothing at all.

So this concept works because everyone benefits in one way or another. The recipient gets a free (or very low cost) trip, you can increase sales and the resort makes more money than if the room was empty.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not endorsing this company at all.

I’m not an affiliate for Advertising Bait either. My point here is that the concept itself is legit and it does work in a way that benefits everyone involved. This is why big companies leverage this marketing method. It makes sense.

Who’s Running The Show?

From what I could see, the Advertising Bait website does not say who is running the company.

However, the guy in the video (who’s an actor from Fiverr btw) does say that ‘they’ own BookVIP.com. Which is a travel booking website and lists all of the resorts people can stay in.

bookvip.com

I did my research on this, and it turns out the company that owns BookVIP.com is called Resort Vacations International. And the BBB website lists Waylon White as the owner of this company.

Yet, according to the BookVIP website, there are four co-owners…

co-owners

So Advertising Bait is owned by these guys.

The company (Resort Vacations International) began in 2008 and apparently wants to become “the most recognized travel brand in the world”.

Advertising Bait and BookVIP Affiliate Programs

Both of these sites provide a free affiliate program, that allows you to signup and earn commissions promoting it.

The Advertising Bait affiliate program (advertisingbait.com/promote-adbait) is more like a two-tier affiliate program. The program pays out 40% commissions on direct sales and 10% of whatever your direct referrals earn.

You can also get $500 per month towards a luxury car hire if you get and maintain 200 active members. And $1,000 per month if you maintain 400 active members.

The BookVIP affiliate program (affiliates.bookvip.com) is a straight affiliate program, that pays out 30% commissions on anyone who books travel through the site. With a minimum $100 threshold for withdrawal.

Is Advertising Bait a Scam?

From what I can see, Advertising Bait is not a scam.

You sign up for $49 per month to get access to travel certificates that you can give away. Assuming the travel certificates are legit, this could be a smart way to grow your customer base.

I did my homework on the company though, so I could determine how legit the travel packages themselves are. Which took me to the companies BBB profile

Resort Vacations International BBB Page

As you can see, the company has an A rating and many positive reviews. However, there’s also a good number of complaints.

Which at first was a bit alarming. Until I looked at the BBB profiles of similar, more well known sites in this space, such as Expedia.com and Booking.com. These are legitimate companies, yet they have way more complaints.

So in reality, I think it could be a case of ‘it comes with the territory’. And it goes without saying that even good companies have complaints against them.

So I think to form an objective opinion you really need to weight it up against the positive feedback and see how bad the complaints really are for yourself.

In any case, I don’t believe the company (Resort Vacations International) is a scam. And there’s no real indication to believe Advertising Bait or BookVIP is a scam either.

There is one thing I didn’t like though- the ‘breaking news’ video at the top of the BookVIP site. This is a bit spammy and I personally think it’s a bit misleading. So take this with a grain of salt, because it’s obviously not real.

Conclusion

Advertising Bait is an advertising incentive program that costs $49 per month and gives you access to free vacation incentives. Which you can then use to help grow your business in one way or another.

How great the packages are and how well they’ll work for you, is something only you can decide.

I guess one way to find out, is to signup and try a vacation out for yourself, to see how it pans out. At least this way, you know you are offering people real value, before launching a marketing campaign and putting your name behind it.

Anyways, that’s my take. Feel free to share your experience with Advertising Bait or BookVIP in the comments below (positive or negative).
