ZoomBucks Review: Legit Site to Make Money?

ZoomBucks is just one of the many survey sites out there. And with so many floating around the internet, it can be hard to tell which ones are worth it and which ones are just scams.

Is ZoomBucks legit? ZoomBucks is a “get-paid-to” site where you can earn points by completing offers, surveys, and watching videos. You earn $1 for every 1,000 points and can redeem it for gift cards or cash via PayPal or Skrill. It’s not a scam, but there are mixed reviews regarding whether or not it’s worth it.

Read on to find out what it’s all about, how it works, if it’s a scam, how much you can earn, and more!

What’s ZoomBucks About?

ZoomBucks is a paid survey site, like MyPoints or Inbox Dollars, where you earn points through various methods and then redeem them for gift cards or cash.

It was founded in 2010 by two guys named Michael Nyby and Vikas Tailor. Since then, it’s now under the parent company The Marketing Group (better known as TMG), which also owns similar sites like GrabPoints and EarnThatBuck.

The way it works is this:

Brands want opinions on how to improve their products or services, so they pay for people to take surveys.

Advertisers want people seeing their ads. So, in the same way they would pay for airtime on TV, they pay for people to watch their ads online.

Companies want people to test their websites or apps and will pay people a lot of money to do that. There are even entire companies, like Test.io, dedicated solely to this aspect.

For those reasons, various companies will pay ZoomBucks, who in turn recruits members to do those tasks and gives them rewards as an incentive.

There are three main ways to earn money with ZoomBucks:

  • Answering surveys
  • Completing offers
  • Watching videos

Let’s take a closer look at each one.

Answer Surveys

There are two ways you can go about earning points by completing surveys:

  • Survey walls
  • Survey routers

A survey wall is basically the place on ZoomBucks where you can find and complete surveys without being redirected to a different site.

Surveys that are relevant to the information found in your profile will be posted there.

On the survey wall, you’ll only have to sign up once (for ZoomBucks), and generally won’t be asked to re-enter any demographic information, since that will have already been done at sign up.

Survey routers connect you to surveys from third-party sites. With these, you might have to sign up for different sites and even re-enter your demographic information.

When looking for surveys to complete, you’ll notice that generally most of them tell you how long the survey is expected to take before you choose to do it.

Some surveys they offer will even pay you if you get disqualified from them.

But other than that, you’re required to successfully complete the survey before the points get credited to your account.

Watch Videos

To earn points by watching videos, you simply have to look and find a channel that interests you.

They have multiple channels to choose from, and they are determined by your location.

You have to watch the entire video in order to be credited for it. However, there are some offers that actually require you to watch a video multiple times in order to earn from it.

Complete Offers

There are five different types of offers you can choose to complete:

  • Paid Trial Offers: where you pay “a small fee” for a trial and then get charged for the regular subscription thereafter, but you have the option to cancel
  • Non-Paid Trial Offers: you don’t pay for the trial period, but you might get charged after it; you can cancel at any time
  • Visiting Websites: you earn points by visiting and interacting with the site in various specified ways
  • Trying Apps: you earn points by downloading and testing apps
  • Cashback Offers: you get points back whenever you make a purchase from one of their “partner shops”

So, here is where we see the first red flag.

Generally, if you’re looking to earn money online and you’re told you need to purchase something in order to do that, you should write it off as a scam.

But is that the case with paid survey sites?

No, that does not mean that it’s a scam, and lots of survey sites give options that require spending money (or putting in personal information for a free trial) in order to earn points.

However, you should always use caution when inputting any sort of sensitive information like that online – especially if it’s a third-party site.

And if you’re uncomfortable with it, you can always just avoid those types of offers and stick with surveys and videos.

How Does ZoomBucks Work?

There aren’t many requirements you have to meet in order to sign up for ZoomBucks. Basically, if you’re 13 years or older and have an email address, you’re good to go.

Signing up is free, you just need to input your email address and create a password.

After you sign up, you’ll have to provide some basic information relating to your demographic, like:

  • Your name
  • Age
  • Occupation
  • Income Bracket

This information will be used to determine which surveys you qualify for, so it’s important to make sure the information you’re giving is thorough and accurate.

You don’t have to give any of that information out, however, if you were just going to watch videos.

Once you’re signed up, you can start right away completing offers, surveys, and videos.

How Much Can You Earn?

With ZoomBucks, every point you earn is equivalent to $0.001. That means it takes 1,000 points to earn $1.00.

The minimum threshold for redeeming your points is 3,000 points or $3.00.

Generally, the pay per survey can range from 400-4,000 points, and surveys by far give you the most points.

Watching videos can earn you around 7 points. And completing offers can earn you anywhere from 100-1,000 points.

You can redeem points for either cash (via PayPal or Skrill) or various gift cards, such as:

  • iTunes
  • Amazon
  • Steam
  • Wal-Mart
  • Google Play
  • Lowe’s

You can even exchange your points for Bitcoin, although you’ll need a minimum of 1,010,000 points before you can redeem for it.

Points never expire, and – according to ZoomBucks – the top earners bring in between 10,000-20,000 points per day.

Most of the time, you can expect to receive your reward within 24-72 hours of requesting it.

You can also earn points by referring your friends to ZoomBucks. You can earn anywhere from 500-5,000 points per person who signs up through your link.

Is ZoomBucks a Scam?

To figure out really if ZoomBucks is a scam or not, we need to look at what others who have used it are saying.

From what I can tell, the reviews are split – you either really like it or you really don’t. And in fact, the claims of both seem to be contradictory.

For example, some people happily state that they do pay out and that they actually seem to pay out more than some other sites.

However, others claim that there’s a hold on their account even though they’ve earned money, or that they haven’t been credited for surveys that they actually did complete.

Some people even say that they’ve had their accounts forcibly (and wrongfully) closed.

However, if you go to Zoombuck’s website, you can actually see a live feed of people completing surveys and being credited points.

In fact, you can even see a feed of cashouts made via PayPal. It gives the amount cashed out, the PayPal ID, and the time/date it was cashed out on.

So ultimately, I don’t think it’s a scam. The reviews seem to fall in line with all the other survey sites out there, and people have legitimately been paid out for their work.

What I Like

  • It’s easy to sign up for
  • Their point system is straightforward
  • They offer lots of different ways to redeem your points, including cash via PayPal

What I Don’t Like

  • Nothing really separates this site from all the other survey sites out there
  • They have paid trial offers (where you pay for the trial)

Conclusion

In the end, ZoomBucks is a legitimate GPT site where you can earn some extra money on the side.

However, there are a few good reasons to be a little hesitant to sign up – namely that some of their offers would require you to put in your credit card information (and in some cases actually pay) for a trial service.

Thankfully, they do offer other ways you can earn points without having to do that. So, if you do sign up, just use common sense and caution, and never give out any information you aren’t comfortable with!
