Should You Join The WildTree Business Opportunity?

Chances are you’ve been asked to join the Wildtree business opportunity. It sounds interesting, but you need to know more. From someone who’s not promoting it!

Well, you’re in the right place. I’ll show you what you need to know before joining…

The Company

Leslie Montie
Leslie Montie

Wildtree is a US based company that was founded by Leslie Montie back in 1996.

The idea for the company all started in Leslie’s kitchen. She was looking for a way to streamline healthy meal preparation, without sacrificing the taste. She did it, and her family and friends loved her creations, so she started selling it.

Fast forward to the present, and Wildtree is now a fully fledged network marketing company with millions of customers.

The Products

Essentially, the products consist of things you can add to your food to make it taste great such as herbs, spices, blends, sauces etc. You can also buy various bread mixes, soups, oils, dips and other natural food related products.

None of the products contain nasties like GMO’s, MSG or artificial colors either, and there’s a dedicated organic range which is cool.

Wildtree Products

The people behind the products are Matt Geisler and Sarah Ereio. Matt is the chef who designs the products, and Sarah Ereio is the dietician who approves them.

The core idea with these products is to help people create healthy, natural, and easy to prepare meals:

We develop our products based on the concept of taking simple ingredients from the grocery store and turning them into easy-to-create meals your entire family will enjoy.

So, all you need is grab the raw ingredients and follow one of their 2,500 recipes, and you’re good to go.

It may not be as simple as buying a frozen meal. But it’s quicker than starting from scratch and it’s probably the healthier and tastier option.

The Wildtree Business Opportunity

If you enjoy the products, you can make money selling them as a consultant.

The Wildtree business opportunity allows representatives to sell the products directly, and recruit others to do the same. This means you can make money based on your own efforts, and those within your team.

This is commonly referred to as network marketing or multilevel marketing (MLM). In and of itself, there’s nothing wrong with the mlm business model. It comes down to how focussed on selling genuine products to genuine customers the company is. As oppose to mass recruiting.

Getting Started As a Wildtree Consultant

Joining Wildtree costs $129 for a ‘New Representative Business Kit’ which comes with “the materials and supplies you will need to launch your business”. This includes catalogues, marketing materials, product samples and other essential items to get your business started.

To remain ‘active’ you must personally sell or consume $350 worth of products every 4 months from your start date. However, to qualify for the true benefits of the compensation plan and become a ‘Team Leader’, you must be doing $350 every month.

Depending on how you want to market the business, you may also want to factor in the cost of stocking some inventory. You can sell directly through your online store, but many reps demonstrate the products through home parties too- AKA workshops.

The Wildtree Compensation Plan

The company does not disclose the official compensation plan on their website, which is very annoying.

However, they do disclose the basics and I was able to find a video made by a representative and part of the official compensation plan here which gave me what I needed.

Read on to see how the compensation plan works in more detail…

Personal Retail Sales

Consultants earn between 25-40% commission on personal sales made at home parties or directly through their replicated store. How much you make depends on your rank within the company.

Downline Commissions

In addition to commissions on personal retail sales, representatives can earn between 3-12% of their direct referral’s sales and up to 7% of their indirect referral’s sales each month.

This works using a ‘unilevel’ downline structure:

Unilevel Downline Example

In this case, your ‘direct referrals’ are placed directly under you on level 1, and each form a new leg. From the example given above, that consultant has 3 direct referrals and thus, 3 legs.

Your ‘indirect referrals’ are placed on level 2, under your direct referrals. This process can continue down infinitely wide and deep.

The concept of ‘generations’ also comes into play, and it tends to confuse people. But it is important to understand how this works when analysing this opportunity, and it’s simple enough when you break it down.

Basically, your ‘1st generation’ begins with the first Team Leader ranked affiliate that is found within your downline. Your 1st generation ends, and your 2nd generation begins, with each new Team Leader ranked affiliate in each leg.

I’ll now explain the affiliate ranks which will clarify this further…

Consultant Ranks

The exact percentage commission you can earn on the above income streams, depends on your rank within this company. There are 10 ranks within the Wildtree compensation plan which each have different qualifiers and potential benefits.

The Referral Credit System

The referral credit system allows you to share Wildtree with people in a unique way.

Whenever your customers purchase through you using the app, you earn the standard retail commission. However, your retail customers can also share their unique referral code with people they wish, which gives you and your customer addittional benefits.

This works through the companies new app. When your customer shares their unique referral code with someone who goes onto buy, they both get $5 off their next shop. The best part is, YOU get credited with ALL of the sales that result from this, as if they were your own personal retail sales.

This is a good system, and helps consultants build their sales with the help of their customers. It’s a win win.

Can You Really Make Money With Wildtree?

You can make money as a Wildtree consultant, yes. There’s no doubt about it. How much money you make however, depends on a number of factors such as how you market the business and your personal effort.

As a consultant, you are encouraged to market the products and opportunity by throwing home parties (AKA workshops).

Wildtree Workshop

Workshops are events where people get together and make 10 frozen meals in under 2 hours.

The host organises the event and participants each pay for a $78 ‘workshop kit’ in advance, along with a list of groceries needed to go with each recipe. Each participant places the purchased ingredients into sealable freezer bags prior to arriving. Once they arrive at the workshop, they grab their workshop kit, which has all the Wildtree products and instructions, and complete their freezer bags.

All they need to do from that point is cook them at home on the day they want to eat!

It sounds like a bit of a chore getting those 10 meals together the first time, but it may save you time and money down the road. In any case, this is clearly for people passionate about food and those who like socialising and meeting new people. Otherwise, you probably wouldn’t bother.

That being said, there are Facebook parties too, which are essentially the same thing except you never have to leave home. They’re good for people who are interested in the food, but not so much the social element. This route is for the reps who are looking to branch out  beyond family and friends and delve into online marketing too. Which is smart.

Whichever route you take, even if you do both, your success is going to come down to how many new leads you can generate. Success with these business opportunities comes to those who can branch out beyond their personal network of friends and family.

You need to generate fresh leads on a consistent basis if you want to make more than a few extra bucks with this biz op.

Conclusion

Wildtree is a legitimate network marketing company. For those interested in healthy, nutritious food, that’s easy to prepare, it represents an interesting and potentially great product line. If you love the products, and you want to make money promoting this stuff, you can do that too.

The good thing about selling in person at workshops is you can demonstrate the products in person, and build stronger relationships. But the online approach is also worth considering because you can reach a wider audience, and it caters to both customers and consultants who aren’t necessarily interested in the social side of things.

Whatever you decide, make sure you love the products and stick to a solid game plan.
