TruVision Health MLM Review (Should You Join?)

In 2019, 76% of Americans had taken a dietary supplement within the past 12 months, and dietary supplement usage has reached an all-time high.

That may be why companies like TruVision have emerged on the MLM scene, hoping to win people with their expensive supplements.

But is this company legit? Are their products any good? Should you sign up as an associate?

In this article, we’ll cover all those questions and more to help you make an informed decision on whether or not you want to get involved with this company.

TruVision Health Overview

TruVision Health is a relatively new multi-level marketing company that was founded in May of 2014 by Shawn Gibson, Travis Martin, and Derek Bailey.

They’re a company whose focus is centered around encouraging people to live healthier lives, which they strive to do by offering a wide range of supplements and other overall wellbeing products.

They also put an emphasis on using natural ingredients in many of their products, and using innovative methods to help people lose weight, increase their energy levels, enhance their natural beauty, support normal blood levels, and more!

On top of helping people support a healthier lifestyle, their mission is also to give people the chance to earn money. They make bold claims about their company, which could be a marketing tactic to recruit people from their longer-standing competitors.

Along with selling products, they also have a variety of programs people can sign up for, such as retreats, summits, 10k pledge runs, and more.

TruVision Health Products

Truvision Health sells a variety of health and wellness products, which can be broken down into four main categories:

  • Core: products designed to help fuel your body, curb your appetite, boost your energy levels, and support your blood chemistry.
  • Skincare: a variety of creams (both gentle and rich) designed to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
  • Complementary: other items that complement an overall healthy lifestyle, from housework to personal care items.
  • Essential Oils: many different oils that provide aromatherapy for use in the bath, on your skin, and even in the air in your home.

TruVision has also recently released two patches – called Harmony and Vibrant Patch-Ups. One, the Harmony Patch, is geared towards helping women maintain hormonal balance through natural, traditional ingredients.

The Vibrant Patch, however, claims to “enhance good vibes” through the use of the controversial ingredient CBD which is said to have potential health benefits.

Controversies and new releases aside, their main product line focuses in on “core” products, and there are two which are particularly popular:

  • TruFix: helps support “blood chemistry” by using a combination of natural ingredients, all of which are used in moderation and stay well below any toxic levels (which is good because it contains things like copper). It comes in a capsule or as a powder mix.
  • TruControl: a supplement using high-quality natural ingredients that’s main goal is to boost your metabolism, suppress your appetite, and give you an increase in energy – all of which supposedly helps you attain your weight-management goals.

You can also subscribe to certain packages – like the TruControl and TruFix combo – where you get a refill automatically delivered every 30 days, plus a 20% discount. Alternatively, you could just do a one-time purchase.

Issues With the FDA

Before we go forward with the details of how to get involved and how their pay structure works, there is something else that needs to be addressed first.

There have been two times where the FDA has had a few things to say to TruVision, in the form of warning letters.

The first was in 2015 when it was brought to the FDA’s attention that TruVision’s Tru Weight & Energy contained a combination of DMBA and Synephrine.

For starters, DMBA is not approved for use in supplements. And the Bitter Orange Extract (synephrine – 30%) was also a cause for concern, and the FDA stated that “the levels of synephrine…have been modified from naturally occurring levels.”

The FDA issued a warning letter for this incident, stating that consuming a high dose of synephrine could cause a “significant increase in systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and heart rate” and put people at risk for cardiovascular events.

Another warning letter was issued to TruVision in 2017 for multiple violations, such as the marketing of their products as drugs, listing incorrect serving sizes, and nutrition labels that failed to meet FDA requirements.

These types of warnings, especially for a company selling dietary supplements encouraging people to be healthier, are very concerning, to say the least.

And, while they did reconcile the issues, these problems arising so early in the company’s history is also a red flag for their overall stability from a business standpoint.

How to Sell for TruVision

If you’re still interested in selling for TruVision, they claim that they’re the “best direct selling company to work for,” and signing up to become an associate with them is simple.

For starters, they offer you one week’s worth of products so you know what you’re getting into and so you’ll have the opportunity to promote something you genuinely like and have tried.

When you begin the sign-up process, they’ll offer you a variety of popular starter items that you can choose from, ranging from $2.00 to nearly $200.00.

You must have at least one item in your cart to move forward to the next step, but you don’t have to spend a minimum amount at this point.

After you’ve picked the product package you want to buy, they’ll also ask you to purchase a recurring subscription to a product, but you can skip that step if you want to.

Then you’ll have to create an account, put in your billing and shipping information, and set up a payment method.

There is an annual membership fee of $35, and you must purchase 100 points of products monthly in order to stay active as an Associate.

How Do You Make Money?

There are four basic ways you earn commission:

  • Unilevel
  • Fast Start
  • Check Matching Bonus
  • Global Leadership Bonus

You start out as a first-level associate, where you are eligible to earn one level of commission, four levels of Fast Start, and the 10% check matching bonus.

Before we break down each way you can make money, you should know that there’s a video that gives an overview of the compensation plan. And in it, they state that there are more videos that go into detail about each individual method.

Some other websites that have reviewed this company claim that those “other videos” don’t exist – and to be fair, maybe they didn’t at the time they wrote their article – but as of right now in 2020, they do have all four compensation method videos up on their TruVision Youtube page.

Unilevel

The Unilevel method is the basis for their commission structure.

Basically, you’re allowed to enroll as many people as you want and put all of them on your first level, or tier.

This is good for you because your first level is actually where you’ll make the highest percentage of commissions. It also compensates for the fact that their highest commission percentage is only 7% in this model – far lower than other MLM companies.

You earn a set percentage for your commission rate on up to 8 levels of your recruited downline:

  • Level 1 – 7%
  • Level 2 – 7%
  • Level 3 – 6%
  • Level 4 – 6%
  • Level 5 – 5%
  • Level 6 – 5%
  • Level 7 – 5%
  • Level 8 – 5%

Those numbers might be low, but most other companies don’t offer commissions on eight tiers. So, that is a bonus.

Fast Start

This is an option that’s more unique to TruVision.

Fast Start is basically a way to get the ball rolling and put you on the path to success as fast as possible. The goal is to quickly recover your enrollment cost and the cost of your first order.

They do this by offering higher commission percentages on only four levels of downline:

  • Level 1 – 20%
  • Level 2 – 10%
  • Level 3 – 5%
  • Level 4 – 5%

This also only works with the purchase of the Fast Start Pack, which contains a variety of products designed to help people get off to a good, successful start.

Check Matching Bonus

The check matching bonus is a way to help you earn commissions on your group’s sales. It entails you receiving a 10% bonus on the actual earnings of people you’ve enrolled

So, for example, if you’ve enrolled someone who was making $1,000 in Unilevel pay, you would earn an extra $100 from that person.

And there’s no limit to the number of people who can help you earn check matches. So, if recruiting is genuinely your strong suit, this would be a great option for you.

Global Leadership Bonus

The global leadership bonus is reserved for higher-ranking associates.

Top performers can earn up to 3% of worldwide commissions. This is definitely something that could pay off significantly, but honestly, it would be extremely difficult to reach this level of leadership and success.

What I Like

  • Their products are appealing to many people
  • Their products seemingly stay up with current trends

What I Don’t Like

  • Their previous issues raised by the FDA provide a serious cause for concern
  • Their pay structure is heavily reliant on your recruitment abilities
  • Their pay structure is difficult to understand and they don’t provide nearly enough information on how to earn money or how much you can earn

Summing It Up

Overall, TruVision is a legitimate company that’s gotten off to a rocky start.

Honestly, in my opinion, if you were set on joining a multi-level marketing company, there are better ones you could join. Ultimately, though, the choice is a personal one, and hopefully, this article has given you some helpful information!
