Welcome to my review of 12 Minute Affiliate.
I came across this program today. The sales page claims you can make $460 per day (or more) online, using a “done for you” system that you can have setup within minutes.
Well, I decided to take a closer look. And the good news is, there is some value here so it’s not a scam. The bad news is, it really doesn’t live up to the hype.
Read on for the full review.
What’s 12 Minute Affiliate About?
12 Minute Affiliate is a program created by Devon Brown, that shows you how to setup basic affiliate funnels to promote ClickBank affiliate offers.
Affiliate marketing is a business model where you earn money promoting other companies products online. When someone buys through your affiliate link, you earn a commission.
As a member, you get access to some of Devon’s existing capture pages, email swipes and pre-selected affiliate offers within three major niches- home business, health and relationships.
The concept of promoting ClickBank affiliate offers in this way is nothing new.
And there’s certainly nothing “ground breaking” about this program.
But it is a way to get an affiliate business rolling very quickly, hence the name. And the program is run by Devon Brown who is a successful internet marketer.
So there’s definitely some “pros” with this and you can theoretically earn affiliate commissions by following the steps. Without a doubt.
But there’s also some major drawbacks to consider.
And probably the biggest one of all, is that there is VERY little training.
You get some basic, generic sales funnels to use to get your feet wet, which is cool. But if you actually plan on getting into profit there is no way this is enough.
Which is probably where the upsells come into play:
As it is you simply do not have enough training to create something of substance. So you are going to have no idea what you are doing beyond the basic steps you are given.
Also worth mentioning is that the initial $9.95 payment is just a 14 day trial.
In order to continue getting access to the members area and funnels beyond that 14 day period, the ongoing cost is $47 per month.
Read on to see how this system works in more detail.
How Does It Work?
Once you purchase 12 Minute Affiliate through the ClickBank order screen (and get through the upsells), you will be taken to the members area:
Here you are given a series of steps to complete the setup of your new funnel:
- Choose a niche (health, wealth or relationships)
- Setup your free ClickBank affiliate account
- Signup with an email auto-responder service like Aweber (extra cost)
- Setup your auto-responder and capture pages
- Start sending solo ad traffic to your funnels (extra cost)
The whole setup is pretty easy and it is something anyone can do.
Here’s the process in a nutshell:
traffic => capture page (person subscribes to your email list) => affiliate offer
The idea with the email marketing component is that you can follow up with people long after they view the affiliate offer. Which is in reality the only way you will actually get into profit, because most people do not buy right away.
In any case, you can make commissions this way. Because what you have is the framework of a working funnel.
And I really do mean “framework”.
You are really only getting “part” of the overall picture. Enough to really just get you to earn that first commission. But not nearly enough to get you into profit, let alone $100’s per day.
If you want to be successful at affiliate marketing, you need proper training.
Training that shows you how to create your own unique landing pages, create valuable email content and drive quality free traffic. Training that teaches you how to become a REAL affiliate marketer.
Not just a list of steps to setup the bare bones of a generic funnel.
So if you want to follow Devon Brown’s methods, be prepared to spend more money to get the “meat” of his training. Or look elsewhere to “fill in the gaps”.
And you should also be ready to spend more money on an email auto-responder, domains, capture page builders and other essential tools.
Not to mention, you will be spending money on traffic with this system. Because the system is setup for you to buy solo ad traffic.
Which is essentially paying other marketers to send promo emails on your behalf. And when someone reads the email and clicks the link to go to your capture page, you pay for that click. It can be costly and not the best quality in my opinion.
Either way, there is literally no point in spending a fortune on traffic without learning how to properly market to the people who join your email list.
Is Everything Really “Done For You”?
No, everything is not done for you at all.
And this is one of things I dislike the most about this program the most. This is nothing more than a marketing gimmick to get the masses in the door. Plain and simple.
It is true that SOME aspects of the funnel are “done for you”.
But if you actually want to earn consistent profits, you NEED to learn real internet marketing skills and put in some serious effort over time.
That’s just the way it is.
I may not be a “millionaire guru” but I do earn 6 figures per year doing affiliate marketing.
So I am speaking from experience here when I say this. And when I say that done for you funnels are not a viable longterm strategy.
You need to be creating unique, high value emails if you want them to be delivered, opened and read. And if that’s not happening, nobody is clicking the affiliate links within your email, which make you money.
You also need to be differentiating yourself from the masses, and establishing your own brand. A relationship with your audience that is based on the value you GIVE to them.
So you might make a few quick sales with a done for you system but it is VERY unlikely you will get (and stay) into profit this way.
What I Like
- Low initial cost of $9.95 to see inside the members area
- Might help you make your first affiliate sale
- Affiliate marketing is a great business model
- 60 day refund policy from ClickBank
What I Don’t Like
- There is a lot of hype in the sales pitch
- Upsells immediately after buying
- No training on generating quality free traffic so you’ll be stuck paying for solo ads
- Done for you systems sound cool, but they don’t work longterm
Conclusion- Legit Money Making System?
Devon Brown’s 12 Minute Affiliate is not a scam but it’s not exactly something I’d personally recommend either.
On the plus side, you do get access to a members area that shows you how to launch a basic affiliate marketing sales funnel. Along with some existing capture pages and email copy.
You will need to purchase an auto-responder subscription and pay for traffic, but all said and done you could use this to generate some affiliate revenue.
So it’s certainly legitimate in that respect.
However, the downside is that there’s a LOT missing from this program.
You do not get access to in-depth training on the most fundamental aspects of building a profitable affiliate business. Such as training on creating your own (unique) capture pages, email marketing or traffic generation methods beyond solo ads.
Which is why there’s no way I’d pay $47 p/m for this.
That, in my opinion, would be a waste of money given alternative affiliate marketing programs that offer far more value for a similar price point.
In any case, the claims on the sales page of making $100’s per day using a “done for you” system is just a marketing gimmick.
I seriously doubt if anyone who buys this makes that sort of money without purchasing the higher ticket upsells. And without a substantial budget for paid traffic.
Whatever you decide, I hope you found this review helpful.
It's true... most people fail to make money online. Despite the wealth of opportunity that currently exists, there's a mountain of misinformation and bunk programs out there.
Thankfully, there is a real way for the average person to start a profitable online business. I know because I've done it myself. Here's how I went from $0 to $8k plus per month online.
